Following Mayo's footballers

One change for minors

The minor team to face Roscommon in Sunday’s curtain-raiser at McHale Park (throw-in midday) has been named. There’s jut one change from the side that started in the semi-final against Galway, with Ballinrobe’s Stephen Burke coming in at centre-forward in place of Brian Walsh of Ballintubber. Details of the starting fifteen and subs for Sunday’s minor decider are as follows:

Mayo (Connacht MFC Final v Roscommon, 21/7/2013): Marc Mulligan (Claremorris); Eddie Doran (Achill), Seamus Cunniffe (Ballaghaderreen), David Kenny (Aghamore); Ronan Finn (Claremorris), Stephen Coen (Captain, Hollymount/Carramore), Michael Hall (Breaffy); Val Roughneen (Balla), Diarmuid O’Connor (Ballintubber); Conor Loftus (Crossmolina), Stephen Burke (Ballinrobe), Cian Hanley (Ballaghaderreen); Darragh Doherty (Kilmaine), Liam Irwin (Breaffy), Tommy Conroy (Kiltane)Subs: Mathew Flanagan (Balla), Hugh Cafferty (Crossmolina), Sean Conlon (Castlebar Mitchels), James Langan (Knockmore), Mathew Ruane (Breaffy), Padraig Prendergast (Louisburgh), Brian Walsh (Ballintubber), Michael Plunkett (Ballintubber), Conor Byrne (Moy Davitts).

From what I can see, the Rossies have yet to name their team for Sunday.

This will be a hard match.Ros have decent team with Daly and Harney stand out players.Still Mayo with Conroy,O Connor and Roughneen have a serious team too and support should swing it.Lets hope so.

And the passion to make it two wins on the
    day. Hon Mayo.

Great night last night in Ruislip Willie Joe, Tom Reilly, Pat Holmes, Colm Mc……to mention a few. Music by Mayos own Kilbane. Looking forward tn a good match Sunday.

  3. rober says:

Congrats Stephen Burke, small in stature but what a passer of the ball. Sunday’s weather will suit him.

  4. All The Way says:

Looking forward to seeing this minor team. Nothing between these two in last year’s decider so hopefully we can go one better this year – hard game against Galway should stand to us. Is Stephen Coen, the minor captain, a brother of Darren on the senior team ?

  5. Roger Milla says:

best of luck to the two men from my own parish tommy conroy for the minors and tony gaughan for london! Tony I hope has a great game but nonetheless ends up on the losing side…

  6. M02013 says:

The rossies unchanged. The league game was 3 point win for Mayo 3 second half goals swung the game. The winner on Sunday should reach the semi final at least, the loser is unlikely to beat a very strong Kildare side.

All the Way. I believe that Stephen Coen and Darren Coen Hollymount/Carramore club are first cousins.
