Everyone is counting down the days to Christmas at this stage and we’re also chalking off the days ahead of the annual Club Stars banquet. This event, hosted in conjunction with the Mayo News, O’Neills and AIB, takes place at the Knockranny House Hotel in Westport on 12th January and the Mayo News football podcast will be there on the night.
Ahead of this, we’re got a special edition of the podcast to preview this year’s Club Stars. To start off, host Rob Murphy and Mayo News sports editor Mike Finnerty set the scene for the awards night. Then we hear from special guest Andy Moran, who chats with Mike about the many challenges he faced this year and explains why he’s ready to go again at inter-county level next year.
Next up is Martina Jennings, CEO of Mayo Roscommon Hospice, who speaks with Mike about the organisation’s invaluable work. The Hospice is the charity partner at this year’s awards and all proceeds from the event will go to it.
This latest episode of the Mayo News football podcast is now online and is available to listen to on iTunes and SoundCloud. You can also listen to it on the Mayo News website as well as here on the blog, using the SoundCloud player below or the one on the panel on the right-hand side.
Watch out too for our end of year preview episode which will be online later in the week, details of which will be posted here on the site once it’s live.
